A licensed Physical Therapist is the only healthcare worker allowed to use the initials 'P.T.'. While other healthcare workers may assist in physical therapy treatments, only licensed Physical Therapists are qualified to use this title. Physical Therapy aides, although a part of the physical therapy team, do not have the required education or licensure to use the initials 'P.T.'. Patients receiving physical therapy are not allowed to use these initials as they refer to a healthcare professional's title.
